EVENTS

FORTHCOMING EVENT:

Date: Sunday 24th June 2007

Location: LARGE Outdoor Covered Market, Preston

Time: 9.30am till 3pm

The third Preston Farmers’ Market takes place again on the Large Outdoor Covered Market where approximately 55 local producers will be selling products ranging from wild boar meat to fruit and vegetables, seafood and dairy products. A range of entertainment including a band, face-painter, owl display and children’s entertainment will ensure the buzz and atmosphere remains.

The new, larger layout of the event will ensure there is plenty of aisle space for wheelchair and pram users and give you more opportunity to browse and buy.

Preston Farmers’ Market has been organised by Preston Chamber of Trade, whose mission is to make Preston a ‘Go To’ destination.

With invaluable assistance from North West Fine Foods and a team of sponsors from the retail community, we are delighted to introduce the best high quality local produce from Preston and the surrounding areas to this event.

From brilliant bangers and sumptuous puddings to cracking cheese and vitamin-packed vegetables, Preston Farmers’ Market promises to bring the best food and drink produce to you direct, as well as fun and entertainment all day long.

You can enjoy free food, beer and wine tastings, cooking demonstrations and celebrity chef appearances in addition to picking up your shopping from producers who grow the best and forget the rest!

Enjoy Preston’s first ever Farmers’ Market. There’s plenty more to come!

Why Farmers’ Markets?

Farmers’ Market are special because the producers who attend them are a rare breed themselves. Farmers, growers and producers from a defined local area, sell their own produce direct to the public.

Everything sold must be grown, processed, reared, smoked or baked by the stall-holder.

This means you will be accessing premium quality produce, fresh from the production line, packed full of flavour, goodness and value-for-money!

The benefits of buying from local producers at Farmers’ Markets include:

  • Helps to strengthen the local economy and independent producers
  • Helps to strengthen the local environment and farming community
  • Helps to reduce the impact on climate change, with less packaging involved and less distance to transport goods
  • Provides excellent value-for-money to the customer
  • Produce is packed full of goodness, taste and wholesome ingredients
